1. Characteristics
Neutral silicone sealant is a versatile sealing material widely used in construction, automotive, electronics, and household fields, suitable for sealing, bonding, and waterproofing of various substrates such as glass, aluminum alloy, ceramic, stone, and plastic; it boasts excellent weather resistance, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures ranging from -50℃ to 150℃, as well as resisting ultraviolet radiation, ozone, rain, and snow erosion without aging, cracking, or losing adhesion over long-term use, and it also features strong adhesion, good elasticity, and excellent chemical resistance, being incompatible with most acids, alkalis, and organic solvents, while maintaining stable performance in harsh environments.
2. Features
- Neutral curing: Does not release acidic or alkaline substances during curing, avoiding corrosion to sensitive substrates such as marble, aluminum alloy, and electronic components, making it applicable to a wider range of materials.
- Excellent elasticity: After full curing, it has a high elongation rate (usually over 300%), which can adapt to the thermal expansion and contraction of substrates and slight deformation of joints, effectively preventing water leakage and air leakage.
- Strong adhesion: It can form firm bonding with most building and industrial substrates without the need for additional primers, ensuring reliable sealing effect.
- Good waterproof and dustproof performance: The cured sealant forms a dense and smooth film, which can effectively block the penetration of water, dust, and other impurities, maintaining the cleanliness and dryness of the internal environment.
- Easy to construct: It has a moderate viscosity, can be easily extruded and shaped through a glue gun, and has good leveling property, which can be smoothed with a tool to obtain a neat and beautiful sealing surface.
- Long service life: Thanks to its outstanding weather resistance and chemical stability, its service life can reach more than 10 years in normal use scenarios, reducing the frequency of maintenance and replacement.
3. Applications
- Construction industry: Sealing of glass curtain walls, door and window frames (especially aluminum alloy and plastic steel doors and windows), expansion joints of walls and floors, waterproof sealing of toilets, bathrooms, and kitchens, as well as bonding and sealing of decorative materials such as stone and ceramic tiles.
- Automotive industry: Sealing of automotive glass (front and rear windshields, side windows), sealing of body joints, waterproof and dustproof sealing of engine compartments and trunk lids, and bonding of some interior and exterior decorative parts.
