Its dual-stage configuration provides isolation of ≥45 dB while maintaining insertion loss of ≤0.9 dB across the specified 1550 ±15 nm operating wavelength range.

Q1: Why is the transmission direction marked on the steel housing?
An optical isolator is a directional component. The arrow indicates the permitted forward transmission direction. Installing the device in the reverse direction can result in high optical loss because backward-propagating light is intentionally blocked.
Q2: What does slow-axis operation with fast-axis blocking mean?
The isolator is configured to transmit light aligned with the slow axis of the PM1550 fiber while attenuating the orthogonal fast-axis polarization. This configuration helps maintain the required polarization state and supports an extinction ratio of at least 21 dB.
