The 16CH CWDM Mux & Demux Module is a passive wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) module for multi-wavelength fiber optic transmission systems, enabling the multiplexing and demultiplexing of multiple CWDM wavelength signals within a single fiber optic link.
2. Key Features
16-Channel CWDM Design: Supports the multiplexing and demultiplexing of 16 signals with different center wavelengths within the same fiber optic link.
20nm Standard CWDM Channel Spacing: Channels are arranged according to CWDM wavelength spacing, facilitating compatibility with corresponding wavelength optical modules and transmission equipment.
Mux & Demux Bidirectional Functionality: Can be used for multiplexing multi-wavelength signals at the transmitting end and for demultiplexing different wavelength signals at the receiving end.
LC/UPC Optical Interface: Equipped with LC/UPC connectors, suitable for high-density fiber optic equipment and modular network installations.
0.6m Pigtail Configuration: The pigtail is protected by 0.9mm white loose tubing and is 0.6m in length, facilitating internal cabling and port management.
ABS Box Encapsulation: Utilizing a 140*115*18mm ABS structure, it provides mechanical protection for the internal WDM optics and pigtail.
Passive Optical Structure: The module requires no external power supply and is suitable for multiplexing and demultiplexing fixed-wavelength optical signals.
Suitable for System Integration: Can be combined with CWDM optical modules, optical transmission equipment, and other passive fiber optic devices to build multi-wavelength transmission links.

4. FAQ
Q1: What wavelengths are included in this 16CH CWDM module?
This module includes the following 16 CWDM channels: 1270 / 1290 / 1310 / 1330 / 1350 / 1370 / 1430 / 1450 / 1470 / 1490 / 1510 / 1530 / 1550 / 1570 / 1590 / 1610nm. 1390nm and 1410nm are not included in this configuration.
Q2: Why are there only 16 channels in the 1270–1610nm range?
Based on a 20nm spacing, the 1270–1610nm wavelength range could originally form 18 wavelength points. This product removes 1390nm and 1410nm, resulting in a final configuration of 16 channels.
Q3: What are the functions of Mux and Demux?
MUX is used to combine multiple optical signals of different wavelengths into a single common optical fiber for transmission; DEMUX, at the receiving end, separates the different wavelengths in the common optical fiber back into their corresponding channels.
Q4: What connectors does the product use?
This configuration uses LC/UPC connectors. LC structures are smaller and suitable for optical communication equipment with high port density.
Q5: What is the pigtail structure?
The pigtail is 0.6m long and protected by 0.9mm white loose tubing.
Q6: What are the module dimensions?
This 16CH version uses a 140*115*18mm ABS box package.
Q7: Can the insertion loss parameters from the 4CH CWDM datasheet be directly used?
Not recommended. The parameters such as IL, Isolation, Ripple, and PDL in the uploaded specification sheet are for the 4CH 1470/1490/1510/1530+EXP version and cannot be directly used as guarantee indicators for this 16CH product. The 16CH version should be based on the corresponding test data or the official specification sheet.
Q8: What type of customers is this product mainly suitable for?
Suitable for CWDM transmission equipment manufacturers, optical network integrators, telecommunications equipment manufacturers, and engineering projects that need to expand multi-wavelength transmission capabilities within limited fiber optic resources.
