The 12-Core MTP/APC Male to 12CH FC/APC Breakout Cable is designed to convert a high-density 12-fiber MTP interface into twelve individual FC/APC connections for single-mode optical interconnection, test systems, and equipment integration.
The assembly uses Corning SMF-28e single-mode fiber and features a 12-core MTP/APC male connector on the trunk side. The first section nearest the MTP connector is ribbonized for at least 20 cm, helping organize the multi-fiber structure before it transitions into the individual breakout legs.
The MTP side is protected by a 3.0 mm yellow PVC tube, while each FC/APC breakout leg uses a 2.0 mm yellow PVC tube. With an overall length of 1 meter, the cable provides a compact interface between MTP-based high-density connectivity and discrete FC/APC ports. The finished assembly is supplied in cardboard packaging.

4. FAQ
Q1: What is the connector configuration of this breakout cable?
The cable uses one 12-core MTP/APC male connector on the trunk side and twelve individual FC/APC connectors on the breakout side, allowing each fiber channel to connect to a separate FC/APC interface.
Q2: What does “ribbonized for the first 20+ cm” mean?
It means that the multi-fiber section closest to the MTP/APC connector is arranged in a ribbonized structure for at least 20 cm before transitioning into the individual FC/APC breakout legs. This helps maintain organized fiber routing near the high-density MTP interface.
