Product Introduction
Precision wire-wrapped screens are manufactured by winding V-shaped profile wires onto longitudinal support rods under precisely controlled pitch and tension, and securing them with continuous resistance welding. The result is a screen with highly uniform slot openings along its full length. Every screen is custom-built to customer requirements, providing reliable sand control and stable filtration for oil, gas, and water wells.
Key Features
Uniform slot openings: Slot width is precisely controlled and verified during winding, ensuring consistent openings along the entire screen.
V-shaped wedge-wire profile: Self-cleaning geometry that resists plugging and clogging.
Continuous resistance welding: Creates a one-piece, rigid structure with high axial and radial strength.
High open area: Supports high flow rates with low pressure drop.
Custom-built to specification: Diameter, slot size, length, and material according to customer drawings or specifications.
Working Principle
The screen uses the bridging principle of wedge-wire slots. Sand grains larger than the slot opening are retained on the outer surface, while fine particles pass through without accumulating. Because the V-shaped slot narrows toward the inside, trapped particles can be washed out during backflushing, keeping the screen permeable throughout a long service life.
Production Process
Profile wires are wound around longitudinal support rods with precisely controlled pitch and tension, then secured by continuous resistance welding at every contact point. After welding, each screen undergoes slot-width measurement, weld-integrity inspection, and dimensional verification. Only screens that pass all checks are packed and shipped.
