OM5 fiber Optic Patch Cord Description:
OM5 fiber Optic patch cord was originally called broadband multimode fiber jumper (WBMMF).

Compared with OM3 and OM4 fiber jumper, OM5 Fiber jumpers can be used for higher bandwidth applications.

In terms of structure, it is no different from OM3 and OM4 fiber jumpers, so it can be fully backward compatible with traditional OM3 and OM4 multimode fiber jumpers.
In addition, in February 2017, TIA stipulated that the identification color of OM5 fiber jumpers is aqua, and OM3 and OM4 fiber jumpers can still be used with OM5 fiber jumpers.

OM5 fiber is more scalable and flexible, and can support higher-speed network transmission with a smaller number of multimode fiber cores, but the cost and power consumption are much lower than single-mode fiber. OM5 fiber Optic Patch Cord Advantage:
