Starship Ring Laser Automatic Aluminium Welding Machine

The Starship is an automatic aluminium welding machine built on the ring laser platform. A coaxial ring beam and a central core beam are emitted at the same time from the adjustable mode beam laser source: the outer ring preheats the material and holds the molten pool stable, while the inner core performs deep penetration welding. Because heat is delivered evenly instead of in one concentrated point, the machine reaches spatter-free, high-speed welding on any metal and any thickness – including aluminium plates and profiles that conventional fiber lasers normally cut, distort or spatter.

1. Ring Laser Source: Coaxial Ring + Core Beam

HW adjustable mode beam source outputs an outer ring and an inner spot simultaneously
Ring diameter adjustable from 0 to 5 mm to match butt, lap, fillet and sealing joints
Ring / core power ratio set independently on the touch screen, no hardware change needed
Multi-point heat input keeps welding stress low, so thin aluminium plates stay flat
High-reflectivity aluminium and copper are welded without back-reflection damage to the source

2. Spatter-Free at Production Speed

Stabilised keyhole and molten pool suppress spatter and porosity at the source
Smooth, uniform bead that needs no post-weld grinding, polishing or rework
Protective glass and optics stay clean far longer, cutting consumable cost per part
Seam density is suitable for pressure-bearing and leak-tight assemblies

3. Any Metal, Any Thickness

Aluminium and aluminium alloy, copper, brass, stainless steel, galvanised steel
Thick plate seams, battery trays, busbars and enclosures welded with consistent penetration
Low heat-affected zone protects heat-sensitive parts and coated surfaces
Parameter recipes stored per material and thickness for fast changeover

5. Why the Ring Beam Replaces Two Processes

Conventional single-spot laser welding on aluminium needs high peak power, which causes keyhole instability, spatter and porosity – so factories grind afterwards or switch to TIG for thick sections. The ring beam spreads energy around the keyhole, so one machine delivers both the speed of laser welding and the bead quality of an arc process: no grinding, no rework, no second station.
