2205 duplex stainless steel pipe is defined as stainless steel with ferrite phase and austenite phase accounting for half of each phase in its solid quenching structure, referred to as 2205 stainless steel pipe, also called 2205 duplex steel pipe. The actual phase ratio is 45-55% ferrite and 55-45% austenite. The excellent performance of 2205 duplex stainless steel is guaranteed by the appropriate proportion of the two-phase structure.
2205 duplex stainless steel pipes have excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, as well as good weldability, and are widely used in the oil and gas industry, marine engineering, chemical industry and other industries. The length of oil and gas pipelines laid by the oil and gas industry using duplex stainless steel materials has exceeded 850km, most of which are 2205 duplex stainless steel seamless steel pipes (some are also S31803 duplex stainless steel pipes and 2507 duplex stainless steel pipes); Due to the strong corrosiveness of the natural gas medium transported by the West-East Gas Transmission Project, high-pressure pipelines are all made of 2205 duplex stainless steel.

2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe Performance and Comparison
2205 duplex steel pipe combines the most beneficial properties of ferrite and austenite, and has good resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. It is a duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. Its yield strength is twice that of austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more advantageous than 316 and 317L. Due to the high content of chromium and molybdenum in this steel, it has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and uniform corrosion. The duplex head microstructure ensures that the steel has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength.
