Product Overview

This series of Hastelloy C‑4 round bars are manufactured by hot rolling, forging or cold‑drawing, followed by solution annealing and rapid water quenching to obtain homogeneous single‑phase solid‑solution austenitic microstructure. Standard delivery is soft solution‑annealed blank ready for full‑range rough‑and‑finish CNC machining.

Hastelloy C‑4 (UNS N06455 / 2.4610) is a Ti‑stabilized low‑carbon nickel‑chromium‑molybdenum alloy, developed for superior thermal metallurgical stability. Compared with Hastelloy C276, C‑4 removes tungsten and strictly limits iron content to greatly suppress intermetallic‑phase precipitation under high‑temperature exposure and welding cycles. It retains good comprehensive corrosion resistance for mixed mineral acids, halide‑containing brine and flue‑gas condensate media. Thanks to titanium stabilization, weld heat‑affected zones avoid knife‑line corrosion risk; many assemblies can go into service in as‑welded state. Widely processed into agitator shafts, valve stems, heat‑exchanger bar blanks and high‑strength fasteners for chemical‑processing, waste‑to‑energy incineration, fertilizer‑production and flue‑gas‑desulfurization industries.

  • Solid‑solution‑strengthened nickel‑base corrosion‑resistant alloy, non‑hardenable via quenching or aging treatment
  • Low‑carbon plus titanium stabilization, highly resistant to sensitization & knife‑line corrosion after welding; post‑weld annealing is normally not required
  • Excellent microstructural stability during long‑time exposure at 650‑1040 °C, minimal brittle intermetallic‑phase formation
  • Balanced pitting / crevice / SCC resistance for chloride‑containing brine, hydrochloric‑phosphoric mixed‑acid service
  • Solution‑annealed quenched condition guarantees low residual stress, good ductility and machinability for fabrication
  • Note: Oxidizing‑chloride corrosion resistance is slightly lower than Hastelloy C276 due to removal of tungsten element
