Short Path Distillation (SPD), also known as Molecular Distillation, is an advanced thermal separation technology designed for the purification, concentration, and recovery of high-value, heat-sensitive, and high-boiling-point materials. The process operates under high-vacuum conditions, allowing molecules to travel a very short distance between the evaporation surface and the internal condenser, thereby minimizing thermal degradation and maximizing product purity.
Compared with conventional distillation methods, Short Path Distillation significantly reduces operating temperatures and residence times, making it ideal for processing temperature-sensitive compounds that may decompose under normal atmospheric distillation conditions.
Our Short Path Distillation Systems are engineered for laboratory, pilot-scale, and industrial production applications, providing reliable performance, high separation efficiency, and excellent product quality.
Internal Condenser
● Installed at cylinder center, shell-and-tube or coil type
● Forms fixed short-path evaporation gap with outer heating cylinder
● Core component for capturing and condensing light molecules
● Condenser area: 1.5~3.5 times evaporation area
● Head-type bottom design for dead-space-free discharging
● 15° inclined plates between cylinders for smooth heavy component discharge
● Optional jacket or coil insulation for high-viscosity post-evaporation conditions
