Superior Performance

Adopts internationally advanced highly adaptable turbocharged engine and fully electronic positive flow hydraulic system. It is energy-efficient with smooth coordinated movements, delivering a 10% increase in operating efficiency.

Smarter Operation

The self-developed STR-A10 intelligent control system enables high matching between the power system and hydraulic system to boost working efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Four working modes are available for easy switching. The cloud platform supports real-time viewing of vehicle location, travel track, working status and other related information.

● Power Modes

his machine offers multiple power options, typically including Standard, Heavy Load and Light Load modes.

The Standard mode is suitable for general earthmoving, backfilling and leveling operations. Switch to Heavy Load mode for tough conditions such as hard soil, weathered rock, crushing and deep excavation. Use the Economy mode for light-load tasks including leveling, material transfer and slope trimming to cut fuel consumption. This graded control allows operators to flexibly select the mode according to actual working conditions, avoiding fuel waste caused by over-powered operation.

● Cooling System

The SE220 adopts a parallel-flow cooling module with an integrated layout of radiator, oil cooler and air cooler. The fan speed adjusts automatically based on temperature.

This design delivers superior temperature control for hydraulic oil, coolant and transmission oil under high-temperature environments, long-duration continuous operation or high-altitude job sites, minimizing issues such as high-temperature protection shutdown and thermal attenuation.

● Core Configuration

 The main hydraulic system of the SE220 is equipped with Kawasaki main pump, main control valve and swing motor. This proven solution has been long validated by Shantui for its mid-range models. The complete system is calibrated by Shantui to prioritize coordinated compound movements, fine control precision and shock suppression.

For compound operations, namely combined actions including boom lifting, arm crowding/retracting, swing and travel, the flow distribution is optimized. It effectively avoids common issues such as flow competition, stuttering and erratic speed. This performance is critical for operators to carry out delicate slope trimming, leveling and precise truck loading.

● Swing System

The swing motor is an inclined-plunger piston motor with a brake release mechanism, delivering smooth swing motion with low start-stop shock. The swing speed ranges from 0 to 11 r/min and adjusts automatically according to control lever stroke. During truck loading, backfilling and swing dumping, this control logic helps reduce material spillage and boost working rhythm.

The swing bearing adopts an enhanced large-diameter bearing, reinforced for high-frequency heavy-load working conditions. It resists premature wear under frequent compound operations and offset digging.

● Track & Guard Frame

The undercarriage adopts Shantui’s proven heavy-duty track frame, with reinforced track rollers, carrier rollers and idlers. Track shoes are available in optional widths such as 700 mm and 800 mm. Wide tracks reduce ground pressure and are suitable for wetlands, backfill soil and tidal flats; narrow tracks are better suited for confined job sites and trenching operations.

● Stability

The counterweight of the whole machine is optimally arranged. It maintains excellent anti-tipping capacity even under long-reach digging, single-side offset load and slope excavation conditions. For municipal projects that frequently require swing-digging and long-distance earth picking, this feature directly affects operational efficiency and safety.

● Ergonomics

The cabin of SE220 adopts a suspended shock-absorbing design. Rubber damping pads isolate vibrations transmitted from the undercarriage and working equipment. The multi-adjustable seat comes with lumbar support to reduce operator fatigue during long-hour operations.

The joystick stroke, operating force and pedal position are well matched. It retains the consistent solid operating feel characteristic of Shantui machines, without excessive operating force that drains the operator’s energy.

● Monitoring & Instrumentation

The cabin is equipped with a color LCD monitor, which displays real-time data including engine speed, coolant temperature, hydraulic oil temperature, fuel level, working hours and fault codes. In case of abnormal pressure, over-temperature, filter clogging and other issues, the system will send advance alerts to facilitate preventive maintenance.
