The Air Dryer System is fitted into the compressed air line of a heavy truck or semi-trailer, where it removes moisture and oil mist from the compressed air before that air reaches the brake valves, the EBS module and the AMT gearbox. By cleaning the air, the dryer keeps every downstream air component dry and free from the water that would otherwise freeze in cold weather or corrode the inside of the air circuit.
Inside the unit sits a high quality molecular sieve that performs dual oil and water filtration, so it separates both the water vapour and the oil mist that a worn compressor can push into the system. The dryer works at a maximum pressure of 14 bar, it is vibration resistant, and its desiccant is not easy to pulverize, which keeps the blow-down regeneration stable over a long period of service.
Because the air leaving the dryer is clean and dry, brake valves, relay valves and seals stay free from corrosion and from the air leakage that corrosion causes. The result is reliable braking, a longer life for the whole air system and fewer unplanned repairs. Under normal working conditions the desiccant charge delivers a service life of up to two years, and the system fits heavy trucks and semi-trailers of all common makes.
