The WABCO EBS-Trailer Modulator 24 Volt (part number 4801020640) is an electronically controlled braking device developed for modern semi-trailers. Compared with conventional pneumatic braking, it reacts about thirty percent faster and produces a noticeably shorter stopping distance, a decisive advantage for heavily loaded combinations on the highway. The modulator receives electronic control signals from the tractor and applies trailer brake pressure with high accuracy, so the trailer slows in step with the towing vehicle.
Beyond basic braking, the unit integrates ABS, roll stability control and trailer swing suppression in a single compact housing. It automatically adjusts braking force according to the current load, which keeps the combination stable when the trailer is part loaded or fully loaded.
