2. Mode of Action

Mepiquat Chloride acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of endogenous gibberellin in crops, effectively restraining excessive vegetative growth, reducing cell elongation, and shortening internode length. It features strong systemic absorption and conduction, which can be rapidly absorbed by crop leaves and stems and transmitted to the whole plant. Different from growth-promoting regulators, it optimizes crop plant type, coordinates the distribution of photosynthetic nutrients, and promotes the transfer of nutrients from vegetative organs (stems and leaves) to reproductive organs (buds, flowers and fruits), realizing the dual goals of vigorous plant growth and increased yield.

General Recommended Dosage: 500–750 mL per hectare, diluted with 300–450 L of clean water for foliar spraying.

Key Application Timing

• Cotton: First spraying at early flower bud stage; supplementary spraying every 10–15 days according to growth status, suppresses vegetative overgrowth and increases cotton boll setting rate.
• Peanut & Soybean: Spray at vigorous vegetative growth stage to prevent lodging, promote pod formation and full grain filling.
