The Thin Film Filter based Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (TFF DWDM) module is a core component of modern fiber optic communication networks, which achieves parallel transmission of multi wavelength signals by integrating high-precision optical thin film filters. This module adopts multi-layer dielectric film stacking technology to simultaneously transmit 40/80/96 wavelength channels (C-band or extended band) in a single optical fiber, with channel spacing accurate to 50GHz/100GHz, supporting single channel transmission rates of up to 400Gbps. Its core advantages lie in low insertion loss (typical value<4dB) and high channel isolation (>30dB), ensuring signal integrity during long-distance transmission. The module adopts a metal packaging structure, with built-in thermistor and heat dissipation design. The working temperature range covers -40 ℃ to+85 ℃, meeting the harsh environmental requirements of data centers, 5G backhaul, and urban backbone networks.

The core technology for improving the bandwidth utilization of fiber optic networks

The TFF type DWDM module achieves precise separation and multiplexing of wavelength signals through the narrowband filtering characteristics of optical thin film filters. It adopts an asymmetric dual pass filtering structure to reflect the input optical signal to the output port, significantly reducing crosstalk and improving channel density. The module supports dynamic wavelength configuration and can flexibly adjust channel spacing (such as 50GHz/100GHz) according to network requirements, maximizing the utilization of fiber bandwidth resources. In the application of urban backbone networks, this technology can increase the transmission capacity of single-mode fiber by more than 40 times, and compensate for link losses by integrating EDFA (erbium-doped fiber amplifier), supporting over 1000 kilometers of relay free transmission.

High speed fiber optic solution for high-capacity transmission

For data center interconnect (DCI) and 5G fronthaul scenarios, the TFF DWDM module supports single channel transmission at speeds of 400Gbps and above, achieving a total single fiber capacity of 38.4Tbps through 128QAM modulation format. Its low dispersion (<0.5ps/nm · km) and low nonlinear effect characteristics ensure ultra-low bit error rate (BER<10 ^ -12) in the C-band (1530-1565nm). The module adopts thermal tuning wavelength locking technology, with wavelength stability of ± 0.5GHz, meeting the stringent requirements of high-speed coherent optical communication systems.

Flexible scalability of multi wavelength channels

The TFF DWDM module supports flexible configuration from 40 channels to 96 channels, and achieves ultra dense wavelength division multiplexing by cascading multiple filter modules. It adopts a modular design, allowing users to dynamically expand the number of channels according to the network size without the need to replace core optical components. In the submarine optical cable system, this technology has realized the single fiber transmission of more than 100 wavelength channels, and the total capacity has exceeded 100Tbps, providing a cost-effective expansion solution for the global Internet backbone network.
