The pocket air filter is designed for medium-efficiency air filtration in HVAC systems, air handling units and industrial ventilation systems. It uses multiple deep filter bags made from synthetic fiber media, giving the filter a much larger effective filtration area than a flat panel filter. This structure allows it to capture more dust while maintaining stable airflow and relatively low resistance.
In actual HVAC systems, pocket filters are usually installed after a coarse pre-filter and before cooling coils, fine filters or HEPA filters. Their main job is to remove dust, pollen, fibers and other airborne particles before the air enters the next treatment stage. This helps keep cooling coils and air ducts cleaner and also reduces the dust load on more expensive downstream filters.
The filter can be supplied in different efficiency grades according to the system requirement. Common options include M5, M6, F7, F8 and F9, or equivalent grades based on ISO 16890. Frame material, filter size, pocket depth and number of pockets can also be customized to match different AHU and ventilation equipment.
Pocket air filters are widely used in commercial buildings, factories, hospitals, laboratories, cleanrooms, food and beverage workshops and pharmaceutical production areas. In office buildings, hotels and shopping malls, they are commonly used in central air-conditioning systems to improve supply air quality. In industrial plants, they help reduce dust entering production areas and protect ventilation equipment. In cleanroom systems, they are often used as an intermediate filtration stage before HEPA filters.

Pre-Filter → Pocket Filter → Cooling Coil → HEPA Filter or Supply Air
This setup is practical because the pre-filter removes larger dust first, the pocket filter captures medium and fine particles, and the final HEPA filter only handles the smallest particles that remain.
