The high-end dispersion analyzer is a microprocessor-controlled analytical photocentrifuge that integrates all functions into a single unit, providing a complete dispersion analysis laboratory. It can quickly characterize any stratification phenomena, such as sedimentation, flotation, or consolidation, and calculate the velocity distribution in the centrifugal field as well as the particle size distribution, making the LUMiSizer® an ideal instrument for R&D and quality control/quality assurance applications.
The patented, cutting-edge STEP technology allows for the simultaneous in-situ recording of spatially and temporally resolved extinction profiles across the entire range for up to 12 different samples with high precision. Parallel near-infrared or blue light illuminates the entire sample cell, and the transmitted light is detected by more than 2000 CCD linear detectors. The transmittance is converted into absorbance.
This multi-sample analyzer is ideal for characterizing and optimizing the stability and shelf life of dispersions, as well as particle-particle interactions, particle and suspension compressibility, and the structural stability and elastic behavior of sediments and gels.
Quantitative indicators of stratification phenomena include clarification velocity and instability index, sedimentation and flotation velocities of particles, residual turbidity, separated phase volume (liquid or solid), and sediment consolidation or dewatering.
