HZG1301 Triple Frequency Induced Withstand Voltage Device with 150Hz Output

Triple frequency induced withstand voltage test is a mandatory test for transformers and instrument transformers to verify longitudinal insulation. Conventional AC withstand voltage only tests the main insulation of fully insulated transformers, while the longitudinal insulation remains untested. This triple frequency device outputs 150Hz power supply to drive high voltage test transformers, applying frequency-multiplied high voltage to the primary winding of voltage transformers. It features simple operation and stable performance to meet induced withstand voltage requirements for transformers and CT/PT.

Working Principle

The unit consists of three single-phase transformers. Primary windings are star-connected and secondary windings form an open delta connection. When the primary side is over-excited, magnetic flux becomes flat-topped wave due to saturation of magnetization curve. The flux contains fundamental wave and zero-sequence harmonics, among which the 3rd harmonic is dominant. In open-delta secondary, the vector sum of fundamental electromotive force equals zero, while the 3rd harmonic vector sum is 3EΦ3. Therefore, 150Hz voltage is generated as power source for induced withstand voltage test.

Application Prospect & Usage

Suitable for induced withstand voltage test of power transformers, voltage transformers and current transformers. Widely used in high voltage electrical factory type test, incoming inspection and power utility maintenance.

Notes for operation

1. Connect 3-phase 4-wire 380V power to N,A,B,C terminals on rear panel. Connect triple-frequency output terminals to HV test transformer. Solid grounding is required.
2. Reset voltage regulator to zero before start. Set test duration (normally 40s).
3. Boost voltage slowly to target value, enable timing and monitor readings.
4. Once insulation breakdown occurs, over-current relay trips immediately to cut off power.
5. Input voltage shall NOT exceed 410V; continuous working time ≤1 hour.

External Compensation

• Inductive load: connect capacitive compensation, rated capacity = 50% of inductive load
• Capacitive load: connect inductive compensation, rated capacity = 50% of capacitive load

Maintenance

Store in well-ventilated and dry environment.
