Cigarette Extinguishing Structure: The barrel often features a metal "smoke extinguisher" (with embossed patterns or a grid) for users to press to extinguish cigarette butts. The basic function is "classified storage": typically divided into an "ash/butt collection area" (with a metal or ceramic liner, some with fireproof cotton and flame-retardant coating to prevent unextinguished cigarette butts from catching fire) and a "small trash storage area" (for guests to discard small items such as tissues and cigarette cases, preventing them from being scattered).
Additional safety features: The bottom is often weighted (such as cement or metal weights) to prevent tipping. Some models feature a draft shield to prevent ashes from being blown away and contaminating the floor. The liner is often removable, allowing for regular cleaning by hotel housekeeping and reducing odor lingering.
