1. Steering Type: Swivel casters are the predominant type (accounting for approximately 70% of all lightweight casters), offering 360° rotation and suitable for applications requiring flexible steering (e.g., office chairs, mobile carts). Fixed casters are also used in some applications (e.g., on the sides of trash cans, to restrict linear movement).
2. Mounting Method: Top plate mounts are the predominant type, securing directly to the base of the object with four screws for easy installation. A few use stem mounts (e.g., office chairs, which insert directly into the chair leg sleeves, eliminating the need for drilling).
3. Additional Features: Some feature simple brakes (e.g., for mobile carts, to prevent slipping), but most are single-wheel brakes (brakes only on the wheel) rather than the dual brakes (brakes on both the wheel and the bracket) of heavy-duty casters.

Made of lightweight materials (such as thin steel plates, plastic brackets, and ordinary engineering plastic wheel cores) and a simple structure, the single-wheel rated load capacity is generally ≤100kg (the industry consensus threshold, the upper limit can be relaxed to 150kg in some scenarios, but it must be clearly distinguished from medium-duty casters). It is suitable for scenarios such as home furniture (such as shelves and storage boxes), office equipment (such as filing cabinets and small carts), and light tools (such as mini storage carts and household cleaning equipment).
