How To Use DTF Hot Melt Adhesive Powder
Here is a general overview of how DTF can be used in T-shirt applications:
1. Design Creation: The first step is to create or select the design that you want to transfer to the t-shirt. This can be done using graphic design software or purchasing a pre-made design.
2. Print the design onto transfer film: The design is then printed onto a specialized transfer film with a layer of DTF hot melt adhesive powder. Designs should be printed in reverse (mirror image) so that they appear correctly when transferred to a t-shirt.
3. Transfer the design to the t-shirt: Place the t-shirt on a heat press, making sure it is smooth and wrinkle-free. Place the cutout design adhesive side down on the shirt in the desired location. Apply heat and pressure using a heat press according to the manufacturer's instructions. The heat activates the DTF hot melt adhesive, causing it to bond to the T-shirt fabric.
4. Peel off the transfer film: After the heating and pressure process is completed, carefully peel off the transfer film from the T-shirt. The design should remain bonded to the fabric.
5. Curing and Finishing: Depending on the specific DTF binder powder used, additional curing or finishing steps may be required. This may involve heat setting the design or washing the shirt to increase the durability and longevity of the transferred design.
