The DHZ470 disc oil separator is purpose-engineered for the biodiesel production industry, providing high-efficiency separation of crude glycerin from biodiesel. Utilizing a sliding piston automatic discharge mechanism, this 3-phase disc stack separator delivers continuous operation with minimal downtime, ensuring maximum productivity in commercial biodiesel plants.
After the transesterification reaction, the reaction mixture contains biodiesel (methyl esters), crude glycerin, and catalyst residues. The DHZ470 disc separator separates these components continuously under high centrifugal force. The heavier glycerin phase settles at the bowl periphery and is discharged through the heavy liquid outlet, while the lighter biodiesel phase flows through the disc stack and exits via the light liquid centripetal pump. Suspended solids and catalyst soap residues are automatically discharged through the sliding piston mechanism at programmable intervals.
