The Francis turbine features a compact structure and high efficiency, capable of adapting to a wide range of water heads. It is one of the most widely used turbine types globally. Water flows through the runner radially and exits axially, classifying it as a radial-axial turbine.
Ideal for water head ranges from 20 to 700 meters, Francis turbines offer simple structure, stable operation, and high efficiency. They are typically used within medium head ranges (50-400 meters) with single unit outputs ranging from tens of kilowatts to hundreds of thousands of kilowatts.
