In terms of function, the axial piston hydraulic pump directly determines the core operating performance of the excavator with its advantages of "high pressure, large flow, and high efficiency". It can provide high-pressure oil sources for the boom cylinder, stick cylinder, and bucket cylinder. For example, when excavating hard rock, the output pressure of the pump can reach 35-45MPa, pushing the cylinder to generate huge thrust to achieve strong cutting of the bucket. At the same time, it also provides energy for the swing motor and travel motor. By adjusting the displacement of the pump (such as changing the swash plate angle through a variable mechanism), the rotation speed of the motor can be precisely controlled, thereby realizing different working conditions of the excavator, such as stable swing, fast travel, or slow operation. In addition, the variable control mechanism (such as load-sensing control and constant power control) equipped with this type of pump can automatically adjust the output flow and pressure according to the actual operating load, which not only avoids energy waste but also prevents system overload. For example, when the bucket encounters resistance exceeding the rated load, the constant power control will automatically reduce the displacement of the pump to ensure that the engine will not stall due to overload.
