The Piher PT-10 and PTC-10 are 10-mm carbon/cermet through-hole potentiometers designed for applications requiring frequent adjustment. Their shaftless design allows for versatile engagement mechanisms, including custom shafts, motor controls, or human interface adjustments. These potentiometers are suitable for controlling variable outputs such as frequency, motor speed, and volume. Key features include excellent linearity (up to 3%), a choice of carbon or cermet resistive elements, up to 16 mechanical detents for tactile feedback, high life cycles (up to 100,000), and IP54 protection. They are available with magazine packaging for automatic insertion and offer various taper options (linear, logarithmic, antilogarithmic). Applications span appliance program selection, thermostat adjustment, timer and control relays, consumer electronics, power tool controls, and test and measurement equipment.
