NX8406 is a single-chip CMOS device that transmits and decodes fiber optic and coaxial digital audio transmission outputs according to IEC60958, S/PDIF, EIAJ CP1201, or AES3 interface standards. The ability of NX8406 to perform comprehensive control through optional control ports in software mode or optional pins in hardware mode. The channel state data is assembled in a buffer, making it easy to read and access.
 
The low jitter clock recovery mechanism generates a very clean recovery clock from the incoming AES3 stream. Independent operation allows systems without microcontrollers to use dedicated output pin operations for channel state data

NX8406 adopts SSOP28 packaging target applications include A/V transmitters, CD-R, DVD transmitters, multimedia speakers, digital mixing consoles, special effects processors, set-top boxes, computers, and car audio systems
