The pin's outer diameter must match the spring's inner diameter, while the support's minimum diameter should equal or exceed the spring's maximum diameter. When replacing steel coil springs while maintaining height requirements, adjust support heights to compensate for the rubber air spring's loaded height.
Thoroughly clean all support surfaces and pins before installation using water or silicone-based cleaners. This critical step prevents damage to the spring's inner diameter and facilitates proper positioning during assembly.
Elevate the machine sufficiently to allow unobstructed installation of the spring-support assemblies. Carefully lower the frame after placement, ensuring perfect alignment of all spring components.
Verify spring heights fall within the datasheet's specified working range after proper alignment and loading. Incorrect height measurements indicate load calculation errors, which may cause operational issues. Excessive height increases resonance risk, while over-compression shortens product lifespan.
Secure the installation by drilling supports and structure, fastening with screws placed outside the spring's maximum diameter area. This completes the proper installation of reinforced elastomeric springs.
Conduct thorough operational checks during initial machine start-ups and shutdowns, monitoring for any abnormal behaviors even when following installation protocols precisely.
