Ensure sufficient space around the full diameter of the pneumatic actuator during installation to prevent abrasion of the flexible component against adjacent structures. Where perfect alignment is intended, a minimum clearance of one inch is typically recommended.
To extend service life, the stroke of the Super Cushion air spring should be limited to its specified maximum height. This is best achieved by installing external mechanical stops.
Consider all relevant environmental conditions, including ambient temperature range and exposure to chemicals, when selecting a Super Cushion pneumatic isolator for your application.
For applications utilizing rolling lobe or sleeve type air springs, a minimum inflation pressure of approximately 10 psi (0.07 MPa) should be maintained. This ensures the flexible member rolls smoothly over the piston without buckling. In contrast, bellows-type convoluted air springs will generally maintain their operational shape even at zero pressure.
