Air spring work principle
An air spring, also known as an airbag or pneumatic spring, works based on the principle of compressing air to support a load. It consists of a flexible rubber or plastic membrane that is stretched over a frame and connected to an air valve. The air inside the membrane is compressed to increase the spring rate and support the load. The air pressure can be adjusted to change the spring rate, making air springs an adjustable suspension component.
When air is pumped into the air spring, it compresses the flexible membrane, reducing the volume of the air chamber and increasing the air pressure. This, in turn, generates a force that supports the load, providing a smoother ride and better handling performance.
