Frequently Asked Questions
What if the pump leaks under high pressure during use?
First check the seal ring (most common cause). Replace it with original Danfoss Vickers seals; avoid cheap alternatives. If leakage persists, check the swashplate wear and tighten the flange connection.
Why is the pump making louder noise than usual?
Mostly due to low oil level, oil contamination, or air entering the system. Top up with compatible hydraulic oil, replace the oil filter, and bleed air from the pump inlet pipeline.
Can I use non-original spare parts to save cost?
Not recommended. Non-original parts (e.g., valve cores, pistons) have poor precision, which will shorten the pump's service life and even cause pump failure, leading to higher repair costs.
How to choose the right model for my injection molding machine?
Focus on displacement and pressure. For small-to-medium injection molding machines, choose PVQ series; for large ones with high flow, PVXS series is better. Match the continuous pressure to your machine's working pressure.
What should I do if the pump's energy consumption is suddenly higher?
Check the volumetric efficiency—if it's lower than 90%, clean or replace the oil filter. Also, check if the control mode (load sensing/pressure compensation) is working normally.
Is the pump compatible with marine hydraulic oil?
Yes, most models (especially PVXS series) are compatible with marine-grade mineral hydraulic oil. Avoid water-glycol unless the model is clearly marked as compatible.
How often should I maintain the pump in a mining site?
Due to harsh conditions, replace the oil and filter every 3 months; check the seal and swashplate every 6 months. Clean the pump inlet regularly to prevent dust from entering.
What if the pump fails to start in low temperature (-15℃)?
Preheat the hydraulic oil to above -10℃ first. Use low-temperature hydraulic oil to avoid oil thickening, which will cause difficulty in starting and wear the pump.
Can I replace a Vickers PVM pump with a Danfoss PVH pump directly?
Check the mounting flange and shaft extension first. If they match, yes. But note the displacement difference—adjust the system flow accordingly to avoid overload.
