Purchase & Selection

Q1: I run a small packaging machine business in Europe. Should I pay extra for the ME300 AFNAA (built-in EMC) or save money with the ANNAA (standard) model?

A1: Definitely go for the AFNAA! The EU's EN 55011 standard requires industrial equipment to meet EMC compliance to get the CE mark. The extra cost is only a few dozen USD—way cheaper than fixing non-compliance issues later.

Q2: My North American factory uses 480V 3-phase power. Can the ME300's 460V series work without burning out?

A2: Totally safe! The 460V series has a wide voltage range (323V~528V), and 480V falls right in it. But never plug a 230V model into 480V—you'll fry the module instantly.

Q3: My factory in Southeast Asia is tropical—temperatures often hit 45°C. Can the ME300 run long-term?

A3: No special model needed, but derate it! At 45°C (5°C over), reduce the output current by 1% per °C (5% total). Also, leave at least 10cm of cooling space around the inverter.

Q4: I accidentally bought a single-phase input ME300. Can it power a 3-phase motor?

A4: Absolutely not! Single-phase input ME300s still output single-phase power. A 3-phase motor will just hum, overheat, and burn out its windings in 10 minutes.

Installation & Wiring

Q5: I wired the inverter without turning off power, and now the display won't light up. Did I burn it out?

A5: Most likely the internal fuse blew. First, disconnect power and wait 5 minutes. Open the inverter and check the fuse: if it's blown, replace it with the same rating.

Q6: I'm connecting the ME300 to Modbus, but it won't communicate with my PLC. The wires aren't reversed—what's wrong?

A6: Check two key settings first: Baud rate and parity must match your PLC. If the communication cable is over 100m, add a 120Ω terminating resistor to the last inverter in the line.

Q7: I'm setting up 4-pump parallel control, but only 2 pumps start. The other two don't respond—why?

A7: It's not a faulty inverter—just wrong parameters! The ME300 defaults to 2 pumps for parallel control. Go into the settings, change "Pump Quantity" to 4, and set a start delay for each pump.

Q8: How do I wire the STO safety function to meet SIL2 standards?

A8: STO needs dual-channel wiring (ME300's TB1 and TB2 terminals)—single-channel won't comply with SIL2/PLd. Use normally closed contacts and wire the emergency stop button in series.

Operation & Usage

Q9: The inverter shows "E.OV" (overvoltage) when stopping, especially during emergency stops. How to fix it?

A9: This happens when the motor's kinetic energy feeds back to the inverter. Easy fixes: Lengthen the deceleration time or add an external brake resistor.

Q10: My IPM permanent magnet motor gets really hot with the ME300, and energy savings are terrible. Why?

A10: You didn't switch the motor control mode! The ME300 defaults to induction motor (IM) mode. For IPM motors, go into parameters, select "IPM Mode," and input the motor's rated specs.

Q11: The inverter makes loud noise when running. Is this a quality issue?

A11: Probably not—adjust the carrier frequency first! The ME300 defaults to 2kHz, which is noisy. Go to parameters, find "Carrier Freq," and bump it to 5~8kHz—noise drops drastically.

Q12: Can the ME300 run 24/7? I need it for HVAC fans in an overseas data center.

A12: Absolutely—its 100% duty cycle (100% ED) is designed for continuous operation. Use Normal Duty (ND) mode and check the cooling fan regularly to avoid unplanned downtime.
