Q1: The inverter is installed in a control cabinet. Why does it trigger an overheating fault (F0004) as soon as it starts?

Check ventilation space: MM440 requires at least 10cm of clearance above and below—don't stack it with other heat-generating equipment

Reduce PWM frequency: If the ambient temperature exceeds 50℃, either install a cooling fan in the cabinet or lower the inverter's PWM frequency (default is 4kHz; adjusting to 2kHz reduces heat generation)

Q2: I'm using a USB-to-RS232 cable to connect my computer to the inverter, but I can't connect to Starter software. What's wrong?

A2: This is the most common issue for overseas customers!

Replace the cable: Cheap USB-to-RS232 adapters are often incompatible with industrial equipment. Use an adapter with an FTDI chip for better stability
Check parameter settings: In the inverter, set P2010=6 (USS communication baud rate) and P2011=0 (address). Ensure the DIP switches on the connection kit are correctly set per the manual (Switch 1 ON, Switch 2 OFF)

Operation & Troubleshooting

Q4: The inverter trips suddenly during operation, displaying F0002 (overvoltage). What's the cause?

A4: Overvoltage is usually related to too-fast deceleration or unstable grid voltage:

If tripping occurs during motor deceleration, increase the deceleration time (parameter P1121). For high-inertia loads like fans/pumps, rapid deceleration turns the motor into a generator, charging the inverter's DC bus and causing overvoltage. Install a braking resistor if necessary
If the grid voltage is too high (exceeding 480V), add an input reactor or set the inverter's input voltage parameter (P0210) to the actual grid voltage

Q5: The motor vibrates at startup, lacks torque, and can't even drive the rated load. How to fix this?

A5:

Verify motor parameters: Ensure P0307 (motor rated power) and P0305 (motor rated current) are correctly set. For example, entering 7.5kW motor parameters into a 5.5kW inverter will result in insufficient torque
