The /Rockwell Automation 2711P-RDT15C is a PanelView Plus operator panel display module. It is a part of a human-machine interface that gives users the opportunity to control and monitor industrial processes over a 15-inch touch display. It is a flat-panel color display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels that has a calibration option for precise input. The 2711P-RDT15C module runs the Windows CE operating system and the main software for running SCADA application on it is FactoryTalk View Machine Edition runtime software. To download the graphics to the unit, users must have FactoryTalk software. The panel cutout dimensions needed for the installation of the 2711P-RDT15C are 305 millimeters x 391 millimeters. There must also be enough space around the terminal for proper device ventilation. It is recommended to leave about 50 millimeters of space at the top and 100 millimeters at the bottom for ventilation to keep the ambient temperature around the 2711P-RDT15C unit below 55 degrees Celsius. For communication, this module can use an Ethernet port or RS-232 port available on the logic module that must be paired with it.
The 2711P-RDT15C delivers solid processor speed and enough system memory and storage space. This module also supports ActiveX controls, a VNC server, and remote connectivity. The applications running on the module can be backed-up to memory cards and restored from there if needed. This module needs a logic module to be fully functional. These 2 components are ordered as separate parts, but during the installation, the users should always attach the logic module to the display module before fitting everything into the electrical cabinet. The 2711P-RDT15C has a built-in PDF viewer for reading content documents and a mechanism for creating backups which can be restored. It uses vector-based graphics and provides data management through CSV files. The 2711P-RDT15C can be panel-mounted in NEMA, UL or IP rated enclosures.
