Large-scale tandem ion nitriding furnaces usually refer to the combination of multiple ion nitriding furnace units to form a tandem structure to meet the needs of large-scale production or simultaneous processing of multiple workpieces.

※ Structural Features

· multi-furnace layout design: composed of a number of independent ion nitriding furnace body arranged side by side, each furnace body has an independent control system and process parameter adjustment device, can carry out the same or different nitriding process at the same time, improve production efficiency and flexibility.

· Shared auxiliary system: Equipped with shared vacuum system, air supply system, cooling system and other auxiliary facilities to reduce equipment footprint and cost, and facilitate centralized management and maintenance.

· Automatic transmission device: there is an automatic workpiece transmission device between the furnace body, such as conveyor belt, manipulator, etc., which can realize the automatic transmission and loading and unloading of the workpiece between different furnace bodies, improve the degree of automation of the production process and reduce manual intervention.

· Overall frame structure: The solid overall frame structure is adopted to integrate each furnace body and auxiliary system to ensure the stability and reliability of the equipment, and facilitate the installation, debugging and transportation of the equipment.

※ Working principle

· Principle of ion nitriding: The same as a single ion nitriding furnace, in a vacuum environment, the furnace is filled with nitrogen-containing gases, such as nitrogen, ammonia, etc. By applying a direct current electric field between the anode and cathode, the nitrogen-containing gas is ionized to produce charged particles such as nitrogen ions and electrons to form plasma. Nitrogen ions are accelerated under the action of electric field, high-speed bombarding the surface of the metal workpiece, so that the surface of the workpiece heating up, while nitrogen ions penetrate the metal surface and spread to the interior, chemical reaction with metal atoms, forming a nitriding layer on the metal surface.

· Joint operation: Multiple furnace bodies in large-scale combined ion nitriding furnaces can be combined and work together according to different process requirements. For example, the first few furnace bodies can be set as the preheating stage, the middle furnace body for nitriding treatment, and the rear furnace body for cooling or tempering and other subsequent treatment, so that the workpiece can complete the entire nitriding process on a production line.

※ Technical parameters

· Furnace size: The size of a single furnace is usually large, with a diameter of more than 1000mm and a depth of more than 2000mm, to meet the nitriding treatment needs of large workpieces. The number of tandem furnace bodies is generally 3-10, which can be selected according to the actual production scale.

· Temperature range: The common working temperature is generally between 500℃-650℃, and the highest working temperature can reach about 700℃, which can meet the ion nitriding temperature requirements of most metal materials.

· Power supply parameters: The output voltage is generally 0V-1000V continuously adjustable, and the output current varies according to the device model and the number of furnace bodies. The common total current is between 500A-2000A, and the frequency is usually below 100Hz.

· vacuum degree: the limit vacuum degree can usually reach 10⁻¹ pa-10 ⁻³Pa, and the pressure rise rate is less than 0.67Pa/h, to ensure the stability of the vacuum environment in the furnace and provide good conditions for ion nitriding.

· Gas flow rate: The flow rate of nitrogen-containing gas into each furnace can be precisely controlled, usually in the range of 0L/ H-1000L /h to meet the needs of different nitridation processes.

· Gas pressure: the supply gas pressure is generally between 0.1MPa-0.5MPa, to ensure that the gas can be evenly distributed in the furnace and in full contact with the workpiece.

· lifting speed: If the furnace body is equipped with lifting type furnace cover, the lifting speed of the furnace cover is generally between 5cm-20cm per minute, which can be adjusted according to actual needs.
