※ Equipment Use

The deep well ion nitriding furnace is a kind of equipment used for surface nitriding treatment of metal materials.

※ Structural Features

· Furnace body structure: usually adopts cylindrical deep well structure, which is composed of furnace cover, cylinder body, furnace chassis and bottom frame. Cooling water is passed through the interlayer of the furnace cover, cylinder and chassis, which is used to reduce the temperature of the furnace and protect the structure of the furnace.

· heating system: Heating elements, such as resistance belts, are generally installed on the inner wall of the furnace lining to generate heat and provide the required nitriding temperature in the furnace.

· vacuum system: composed of vacuum pump, pipe, valve and vacuum gauge, which can pump the furnace to the required vacuum degree and create a good vacuum environment for ion nitriding. Usually, the limit vacuum degree can reach 10⁻¹Pa~10⁻³Pa.

· Gas supply system: It is equipped with gas supply pipeline and flowmeter, which can accurately control the flow rate and pressure of nitrogen-containing gas (such as nitrogen, ammonia, etc.) into the furnace to meet the needs of different nitridation processes.

· Temperature measurement and temperature control system: the temperature measurement elements such as thermocouple are inserted into the furnace to measure the temperature, and the temperature signal is fed back to the temperature control instrument, so as to realize the accurate control of the temperature in the furnace. The temperature control accuracy can reach ±1℃~±5℃16.

※ Working principle

· In a vacuum environment, fill the furnace with nitrogen-containing gases, such as nitrogen and ammonia. The power supply of the device applies an electric field between the anode and cathode to ionize the nitrogen-containing gas and produce charged particles such as nitrogen ions and electrons, forming a plasma. Nitrogen ion is accelerated under the action of electric field, high-speed bombarding the surface of the metal workpiece, the kinetic energy of the ion is converted into heat energy to heat the workpiece, at the same time, nitrogen ion obtains electrons on the surface of the workpiece to reduce to nitrogen atoms, nitrogen atoms penetrate into the metal surface and spread to the interior, chemical reaction with metal atoms, forming a nitriding layer on the metal surface.

※ Technical parameters

· Furnace size: according to different production needs, the furnace diameter can be 500mm~2000mm, and the furnace depth can be 1000mm~5000mm, to meet the nitriding treatment of different sizes and shapes of the workpiece.

· Temperature range: The common working temperature is generally 500℃~650℃, and the highest working temperature can reach about 700℃, which can meet the ion nitriding temperature requirements of most metal materials.

· Power supply parameters: The output voltage is generally 0V-1000V continuously adjustable, the output current varies according to different equipment models, common 50A, 100A, 150A, etc., the frequency is usually below 100Hz.

· vacuum degree: the limit vacuum degree can usually reach 10⁻¹Pa~10⁻³Pa, the pressure rise rate is less than 0.67Pa/h, to ensure the stability of the vacuum environment in the furnace.

· good temperature uniformity: through reasonable arrangement of heating elements and setting of air deflector, the temperature in the furnace can be evenly distributed, effectively avoid local overheating phenomenon, and ensure the consistency of workpiece nitriding quality.

· High nitriding efficiency: in the process of ion nitriding, nitrogen ions directly bombard the surface of the workpiece, accelerating the infiltration and diffusion of nitrogen atoms. Compared with the traditional gas nitriding method, the nitriding speed is faster, which can greatly shorten the nitriding time and improve production efficiency.

· good treatment effect: the nitriding layer with high hardness, good wear resistance and strong corrosion resistance can be formed on the metal surface, which can significantly improve the surface performance of metal parts and prolong its service life.

Wide range of application: suitable for nitriding of carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, die steel, titanium alloy and other metal workpieces of various shapes and sizes, especially suitable for dealing with shaft, gear, mold and other shapes of more regular long shaft parts.
