Specifically engineered for the carbonization and paint removal of used beverage cans (UBCs) and other painted aluminum scrap, this machine prepares materials for the subsequent melting process by efficiently eliminating organic coatings, paints, and lacquers. This pre-treatment is essential for reducing impurities, minimizing smoke and emissions during melting, and ultimately improving the quality and yield of the recovered aluminum.
The decoating process utilizes controlled high-temperature pyrolysis. Aluminum scrap is fed into a rotating drum furnace, where it is heated in an oxygen-limited environment. At the adjustable paint stripping temperature (typically around 480°C), the organic coatings carbonize and are volatilized without burning the aluminum itself. This results in clean, paint-free aluminum fragments that are ideal for feeding into melting furnaces, leading to higher aluminum recovery rates and lower energy consumption during smelting.
Our machine features a robust boiler steel plate (Q345R) construction for durability in high-temperature operations. The variable frequency drive allows precise control over the drum rotation speed (0-13.5 rpm), enabling operators to optimize the residence time and treatment efficiency based on the feedstock.
