Test requirement:
1.1 Test objects are battery packs or systems;
1.2 The ambient temperature of the test should be above 0℃, the wind speed should not be greater than 2.5km/h, and the SOC of the battery pack should be above 50%;
1.3 During the test, the size of the flat plate containing gasoline exceeds the horizontal size of the test object by 20cm and does not exceed 50cm. The height of the flat plate should not be higher than 8cm above the gasoline surface. The test object should be centered. The distance between the gasoline level and the bottom of the test object is set to 50cm. Water is injected into the bottom of the flat plate;
1.4 First stage: Preheat. Ignite the gasoline at least 3m away from the test object, and after 60s of preheating, place the oil pan under the device under test. If the size of the oil pan is too large to move, you can move the test object and bracket;
1.5 Second stage: direct combustion. The test subjects were directly exposed to the flame for 70 seconds;
1.6 The third stage: indirect combustion. Cover the refractory divider on the oil pan. The test object is tested in this state for 60s. Or by mutual agreement, continue to be directly exposed to the flame for 60s;
1.7 Stage 4: Exit the fire source. Remove the oil pan or test object, and observe for 2h or wait the external temperature of the test object dropped below 45°C.
Application:
External fire may cause thermal runaway of the battery, resulting in battery fire or explosion.
The thermal runaway behavior of the battery can be detected by external fire test to evaluate its safety performance.
The external fire testing machine is mainly composed of combustion system, temperature control system, data acquisition and analysis system and safety protection system.
