Fast Integration 640x512 / 15μM MCT MWIR Cooled Thermal Module Into Drones

GAVIN615B is a cooled mid wave thermal imaging module developed by SensorMicro. It consists of a 640x512 / 15µm HgCdTe MWIR IR detector with RS046 cryocooler, hardware electronics and various image processing algorithms are also embedded already to present sharp and clear thermal images.

Configured with RS046 cryocooler, the GAVIN615B is very compact in size, measuring 125x92x67mm in dimension and weighing less than 650g in weight. It’s stable power consumption is as low as 12w. With industrial standard cameralink interface, infrared camera or system integrator can design or integrate their own complete camera easily based on the GAVIN615B thermal imaging module.

Cryocoolers are machines that keep sensors extremely cold so that thermal images can be taken on long-term missions. In many high-end applications, the sensors that capture images require extremely low temperatures.

2. What are the main factors to measure the quality of Cryocooler?
Long battery life and reliable operation are main factors to measure the quality of a cryocooler. SensorMicro cryocooler has a wide operating temperature range and excellent reliability. Its MTTF (Mean Time to Failures) has reached to 10,000 hours, which meets 24*7 boot operation requirements.

3. What is thermal sensitivity?

Thermal Sensitivity, also named NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference), is a key parameter for evaluating medium wave (MWIR) and long wave (LWIR) thermal imaging cameras. It is directly related to the clarity measured by the thermal imager. It is a numerical value representing the signal-to-noise ratio of the temperature difference and measured in milliKelvins (mK). The smaller the thermal sensitivity value, the higher the sensitivity and the clearer the image.
