Ceramic fiber blanket is a flexible, refractory, and thermal-insulating material composed primarily of aluminum silicate fibers. It is manufactured through high-temperature melting followed by fiberization—using either spinning or blowing techniques—and a double-sided needle-punching process.
Its chemical composition is dominated by alumina and silica; depending on the grade, the alumina content ranges from 40% to 55%, with the option to enhance temperature resistance through the addition of zirconia. Free of organic binders, the material is characterized by low weight, low heat capacity, and low thermal conductivity.
It is suitable for long-term use within a temperature range of approximately 1000°C to 1350°C and is widely used for industrial furnace linings and backings, furnace door seals, and high-temperature pipe insulation.
