Product Overview Of RK1820
RK1820 integrates ultra-high-bandwidth on-chip DRAM and a multi-core NPU optimised for 3B/7BLLM/VLM, supporting mainstream model frameworks and providing a universal API for straightforward development. When paired with host controllers such as the RK3588, the RK1820 forms a powerful AI computing platform. Its multi-modal AI capabilities support applications including speech recognition, video analytics, and long-context dialogue, making it suitable for edge computing scenarios across security, robotics, automotive, consumer electronics, office, education, home automation, and industrial sectors.

 

RK1820 features three 64-bit RISC-V cores (including FPU), each equipped with 32 KB instruction cache + 32 KB data cache + 128 KB L2 cache. The integrated NPU supports mixed-precision operations (INT4 / INT8 / INT16 / FP8 / FP16 / BF16) with computational power up to 20 TOPS (specific to precision / model). The main core (RISC-V) handles model scheduling / control and I/O, whilst the NPU focuses on inference. Integrated ultra-high-bandwidth on-chip DRAM supports PCIe 2.0 and USB 3.0 PHY for seamless connectivity with the main processor or SoC.

 

Supports 3B/7B-scale LLM/VLM models running at the edge. Capable of deploying up to 7B large models on offline edge devices to enable video summarisation, image recognition assistance, multimodal perception, and more. When running 7B models, the RK1820 achieves output at the level of hundreds of tokens per second (actual performance is influenced by model architecture, quantisation precision, I/O bandwidth, and host collaboration efficiency).
