An open mixing mill is a batch mixer for plastic and rubber compounds. It features two rollers running in opposite directions, with adjustable spacing between them. The machine homogenizes and plasticizes raw materials before delivery to the calender. In rubber mixing, the rollers exert compression and shear forces, repeatedly kneading the material to blend components and induce chemical reactions that reduce molecular chain length, ensuring even dispersion and plasticization.
