Professional engine builder installation required. Proper oil system preparation is critical:

1. Drain engine oil completely before beginning work
2. Safely remove the oil pan to access the oil pump
3. Disconnect the pickup tube and remove the pump mounting bolts
4. Remove the oil pump drive gear or coupling from the crankshaft/camshaft
5. Check the drive gear and crankshaft/camshaft drive for wear; replace as needed
6. Thoroughly clean the engine block mounting surface and surrounding areas
7. Check the oil pickup tube and screen for blockage or damage
8. Install the drive gear onto the new pump if not pre-installed
9. Verify the pump rotates freely and in the correct direction
10. Position the new pump and install mounting bolts
11. Tighten bolts to manufacturer specifiion
12. Install the oil pickup tube with a new O-ring/gasket
13. Install the oil pan with a new gasket
14. Fill the engine with the correct grade and amount of oil
15. Prime the oil system by cranking the engine (without starting) or using an oil priming tool
16. Start the engine and verify oil pressure is within specifiion
17. Inspect the oil pan and pump area for any oil leakage
