Working Principle
The starter solenoid switch (also known as "magnetic switch") is a critical control component of the starter assembly, mounted on the starter housing and integrated with the starter motor.
Electromagnetic Actuation: When the key is turned to the "START" position, a small current flows through the pull-in and hold-in coils, generating electromagnetic force.
Contact Closure: The electromagnetic force pulls the plunger forward, engaging the starter drive gear with the flywheel ring gear via a fork mechanism; simultaneously, the main contacts close, completing the starter main circuit.
Motor Operation: High current flows through the closed main contacts to the starter motor, generating powerful torque to rotate the flywheel for engine startup.
Automatic Disengagement: After engine start, the key is released, control circuit power is cut, the plunger returns under spring force, the main contacts open, and the drive gear disengages.
