The Inner Rear Hub Oil Seal with OEM number MB308965 (cross-reference brands IZUMI / MUSASHI F4219) is a verified direct-fit replacement for Mitsubishi Fuso Canter series medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This oil seal is installed on the rear hub inner side, serving as a critical component of the wheel lubrication system seal.
How It Works
The inner rear hub oil seal is installed between the inner hub end and the axle shaft, consisting of a metal casing and an NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) sealing lip. The sealing lip is pressed against the rotating shaft surface by spring tension, creating a dynamic seal. Its core function is to prevent lubricating grease from leaking out of the hub while blocking water, mud, dust, and other external contaminants from entering the wheel bearing cavity. This is an Inner Seal designed to work in conjunction with the Outer Seal (MB308966).
Failure Symptoms

Confirm oil seal dimensions are 85×127×13mm before installation
Recommended to replace the wheel bearing and outer seal (MB308966) simultaneously when replacing the inner seal for complete sealing system performance
Use special press tools during installation — do not hammer the oil seal, which may damage the casing and sealing lip
Apply a small amount of grease to the sealing lip before installation to prevent dry start damage

Installation Guidelines
Refer to workshop manual:
Safety Prep: Park on level ground, chock wheels, lift and support vehicle
Remove Wheel: Remove rear wheel tire and hub assembly
Remove Old Oil Seal: Carefully remove old oil seal using special tools (do not damage hub bore)
Clean Mounting Bore: Thoroughly clean hub oil seal mounting bore — remove old grease and debris
Inspect Mounting Bore: Check for scoring, wear, or corrosion
Install New Oil Seal: Use special press tools to press new oil seal into hub bore (do not hammer the seal)
Apply Grease: Apply a small amount of grease to the sealing lip
Install Hub: Reinstall hub assembly onto vehicle
Fill Grease: Fill with specified amount of wheel bearing grease per workshop manual
Road Test: Perform road test — confirm no noise, no leakage
