Installation Notes
Professional installation required. Proper procedure is critical for reliable clutch operation:
Disconnect battery and remove transmission - Safely disconnect the battery and remove the transmission assembly
Remove the old clutch - Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc from the flywheel
Inspect the flywheel - Check the flywheel friction surface for wear, scoring, or heat damage
Resurface or replace the flywheel - Refinish the flywheel surface to restore flatness, or replace if damaged
Inspect/replace the pilot bearing - Check and replace the pilot bearing/bushing in the crankshaft
Clean thoroughly - Clean the flywheel and pressure plate mounting surfaces of oil and debris
Inspect the new clutch disc - Verify the disc is the correct size and spline count
Use a clutch alignment tool - Insert the alignment tool through the disc and pilot bearing to center the disc
Position the disc and pressure plate - Place the new disc on the flywheel, then install the pressure plate
Install pressure plate bolts - Tighten the pressure plate bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern
Torque to specifiion - Torque the pressure plate bolts to manufacturer specifiion
Remove the alignment tool - Verify the disc is centered and remove the alignment tool
Replace release bearing - Install a new release bearing in the transmission bell housing
Lubrie moving parts - Apply appropriate high-temperature grease to the release bearing fork and pivot points
Reinstall transmission - Reinstall the transmission and all connected components
Check operation - Test clutch pedal feel and travel; check clutch engagement and release
Road test - Road-test the vehicle to verify smooth engagement and proper clutch function
