Disconnect battery - Disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning work
Remove the transmission - Safely remove the transmission and clutch assembly
Remove the old flywheel - Mark the position if required, remove the flywheel mounting bolts
Inspect the crankshaft flange - Check for wear, burrs, or damage to the crankshaft mounting surface
Check the pilot bearing - Inspect and replace the pilot bearing/bushing as needed
Clean the crankshaft - Thoroughly clean the crankshaft flange and bolt holes
Inspect new flywheel - Verify all dimensions and check for damage before installation
Apply thread locker - Apply manufacturer-recommended thread locker to the flywheel bolts
Install new flywheel - Position the new flywheel on the crankshaft flange
