Installation Notes
Professional installation recommended. Proper cooling and lubriion system service is critical:
Drain engine oil and coolant - Drain both fluids completely before beginning work
Remove the old oil cooler case body - Unbolt and carefully remove the oil cooler body from the engine block
Remove the oil cooler core - Extract the old cooler core from the housing (if being reused, inspect carefully)
Remove old gaskets and seals - Clean all sealing surfaces, removing all old gasket material and sealant
Inspect the oil cooler core - Check the cooler core for damage or blockage; replace if necessary
Inspect the engine block surface - Check the mounting surface for damage or warpage
Clean thoroughly - Clean the engine block mounting surface and all fluid passages
Prepare the new oil cooler case body - Inspect the new body and verify it matches the original
Install new gaskets and seals - Position new O-rings/gaskets on the oil cooler core
Install the oil cooler core - Insert the core into the new oil cooler body (if separate)
Install the new oil cooler case body - Position the new body on the engine block
Install and torque bolts - Tighten mounting bolts to manufacturer specifiion
Reconnect coolant and oil lines - Reconnect all hoses and lines to the oil cooler body
Refill with fresh oil and coolant - Fill the engine with the correct grade and type of fluids
Check for leaks - Start the engine and inspect for any oil or coolant leakage
Verify operation - Allow the engine to reach operating temperature and verify proper oil cooling
