Installation Notes

Installation steps (overview for wet liners - typical for 4HG1T):

  1. Remove cylinder head, pistons, and old liners from block (use a liner puller)
  2. Clean block liner bores - remove rust, old O-ring residue, and debris
  3. Inspect block counterbores - check for damage or corrosion
  4. Install new O-rings onto the new liners (upper and lower seals)
  5. Lubrie O-rings and liner outer surface with clean engine oil or soapy water
  6. Press or drop new liners into the block bores - ensure they seat fully against the counterbore
  7. Measure liner protrusion above the block deck using a dial indior and straight edge. Protrusion should be within OE spec (typically 0.05-0.15mm). Adjust with shims if necessary
  8. Hone the liners to final size (if needed) and to create a cross-hatch pattern
  9. Clean liners thoroughly - remove honing residue
  10. Install new pistons and rings, then cylinder head with new head gasket
  11. Fill coolant and check for leaks
