Installation Notes
Professional installation recommended. Proper suspension service is essential:
Raise and secure the vehicle – Safely lift the rear axle and support on jack stands
Remove the rear wheels – Remove the rear wheels for access to the suspension
Support the axle – Use a jack to support the axle and relieve spring tension
Remove the old leaf spring – Remove the shackle bolts, U-bolts, and spring eye bolts
Inspect the shackles and bushings – Check for wear or damage; replace if necessary
Inspect the U-bolts – Check for wear or damage; replace if necessary
Clean the mounting area – Clean the axle seat and mounting points
Transfer components – Transfer any reusable components from the old spring (if applicable)
Prepare the new leaf spring – Inspect the new spring and verify it matches the original
Install the new leaf spring – Position the new spring on the axle and secure with U-bolts
Connect the shackle and spring eyes – Install and torque all bolts to manufacturer specification
Reinstall the wheels – Reinstall the rear wheels and torque lug nuts to specification
Lower the vehicle – Lower the vehicle to the ground
Check suspension operation – Bounce the vehicle to verify smooth suspension articulation
Road test – Test drive to verify ride quality and handling
