Installation Notes
Professional installation required. Proper procedure is critical for engine protection.
Disconnect battery - Disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning work
Remove the drive belts - Loosen and remove all drive belts from the damper/pulley
Remove the old damper - Remove the center bolt and carefully pull the damper from the crankshaft
Inspect the crankshaft - Check the crankshaft nose for wear, burrs, or damage
Check the keyway - Inspect the crankshaft keyway and damper key for damage; replace if necessary
Clean thoroughly - Clean the crankshaft nose and the inside of the new damper
Prepare the new damper - Inspect the new damper and verify timing marks are correct
Align timing marks - Ensure the damper timing marks are aligned with the engine timing pointer
Install the new damper - Slide the new damper onto the crankshaft, aligning the keyway
Install the center bolt - Install the crankshaft bolt and torque to manufacturer specifiion
Reinstall drive belts - Reinstall drive belts and adjust tension to specifiion
Reconnect battery - Reconnect the battery
Start the engine - Start the engine and verify smooth, vibration-free operation
Check timing - Verify the engine timing is correct using the damper timing marks
Inspect for issues - Check for any unusual noise or vibration
